Summer Beading Fun!

Just in time for summer — anklets, vacations, festivals and fairs!

Anklets Are Awesome!

Faire Lady AnkletI'm super excited about all the anklet designs I've been feverishly working on. From lightweight and airy chainmaille to beaded designs that will take you all the way through fall, we've got a free anklet project that will fit your style!

- DragonFly Anklet features easy to find beads (Michael's and Hobby Lobby have them in my area!)
- Rock My World Anklet uses Lapis Lazuli chips for a strong statement that goes perfectly with denim.
- Wire and Labradorite Anklet design works perfectly with any small, round beads. Make a few in various colors!
- Faire Lady Anklet was inspired by a Renaissance Festival. The niobium rings I've used are lightweight and hypoallergenic.
- And our Shining Sterling Silver Anklet design is basic, neutral, and perfect for all summer long.

Festivals, Vacations, and Fairs, Oh My!

Grand Cities Art Festival - public domain photo from WikiMediaI've been busy prepping for the Grand Cities Art Festival that will be held in Grand Forks, North Dakota June 14-15. Look for me in the Arts in Motion section (under the yellow and red awnings in Town Square), and stop by and say hello! I'll be joining several other talented artists demonstrating our art techniques both days — hope for terrific weather!!!

After the art festival, my family will take a short vacation in Devils Lake, ND for some R&R and fishing fun. One of my favorite activities during a vacation is to look for beads from an LBS, or found items, like rocks or other natural materials that I can use to create a special piece of jewelry for myself as a remembrance of the trip. Read about my previous vacation beading fun in June 2007!

The end of July brings WestFair — our local county fair. It sounds crazy, but it's one of the most enjoyable and profitable shows I do all year long! The fair is spread out over several days, so the traffic is pretty low key — I get to visit with friends and customers while they shop, and enjoy all that "bad" fair food :-D If you're doing a booth at a summer fair or festival, be sure to check out our helpful Craft Show Checklist before setting up — I always do to be sure I don't forget anything!

Have a great summer...I'd love to hear about your summer vacation!
