CITRINE
Citrine is a member of the Quartz family and is rare in its natural form. Most Citrine on the market is actually heat-enhanced Amethyst or Smoky Quartz. The color of Citrine ranges from light yellow to gold brown.
Citrine is an alternative to Topaz for the November birthstone, but the misnomer of "topaz quartz" for Citrine should not be used in describing the stone. Citrine is said to promote prosperity, improve communications and relieve backache.
Citrine blends well with Amethyst, Amber, Peridot. Consider a mixture with pastel shades of Quartz for a delicate and soft look for spring. The deep red of garnet or dark red crystals mixed with Citrine creates a beautiful, rich color combination. Accent Citrine with gold or vermeil for an elegant look.
An affordable semi-precious stone, Citrine is a good choice if you are making the jump to higher value jewelry. Use good quality findings and accompanying beads to enhance the worth of your piece.
