On the First Day of Christmas, my good friend sent to me....
An adorable lampwork giraffe!
A group of jewelry artists I hang out with decided to do a Secret Santa exchange this year, and my surprise gift from the very talented Elizabeth Kobelka (www.cheekytrends.com) was this original giraffe bead. He's actually three pieces (head, torso, legs) and can look coyly over his shoulder at me. I absolutely love giraffes (I wonder if anyone would object to one in my back pasture???) and this is a perfect gift for me.
Lampwork artists always amaze me, and Liz is no exception. I can't get over how intricate her detail is, and the melding of glass into the giraffe's spots and facial features is just incredible.
