Happy Groundhog Day - the sun is shining brightly here on the plains, so I guess that means we are supposed to be in for another 6 weeks of winter. I guess I can tie in beading by saying that if we have lots of snow or cold days, I will get more time in my studio!! I'm not aware of any "Groundhog Day" themed jewelry, but I'm sure some talented lampwork artist could make groundhog beads!
February 5 is Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras...and we ALL know there are beads associated with that festival! In addition to the "traditional" use of beads, crafty types can make beautiful masks that can be worn as costumes at parties.
And finally, Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Nothing says "I love you!" like handcrafted jewelry for guys or girls!!! I'm working hard on some new projects this weekend, but for starters, try my Open Heart pendant, Have a Heart Breast Cancer Awareness bracelet, or make a Wire Bookmark (pictured at left) with Valentine's Day themed charms and beads.Happy February!!!!
