Beads, Beads, Beads

While visiting south Florida in February 2007, I talked some friends into going bead shopping. We visited Beads, Beads, Beads on a Sunday afternoon.

Beads, Beads, Beads is well stocked with glass beads — both on strands (which with the exception of vintage beads) can be cut, and in small glass containers for individual beads. All strands and containers are clearly marked, so you can quickly estimate how much you are spending. A nice selection of Vintage glass beads is located at the back of the store.

Beads are arranged by color and easy to see. The store is small, and the beads are arranged on open shelves that are hard to access if the store is crowded. Be prepared to wait if someone else is in the aisle you want to look at!

In addition to glass beads, the store has a nice assortment of wood, shell, bone and other naturals. There is a small variety of Swarovski crystals available, and a few strands of gemstones.

A very good selection of sterling, Bali, copper, vermeil and gold-filled beads are in sectioned trays under the front counter. Findings and clasps in sterling, Bali, copper and gold-filled are also available, in lots of different styles.

Beads, Beads, Beads also carries a wide assortment of beading threads, leather and silk laces and other tools and stringing materials. The store also has a few books and magazines for sale including the Australian beading magazine Beads, Etc.

Prices on all items were average for retail. I did not inquire about wholesale discounts or non-tax purchases on my visit.

Customer service in the store was outstanding. The women who were working were friendly and very helpful in taking out trays, making suggestions on complimentary beads, beading tools, and even suggested where our group could head to get a decent lunch in the plaza!

No returns, but you may exchange or get store credit within 14 days of purchase (other criteria for exchange/credit do exist, please ask prior to purchasing). Classes in stringing, stitching, chainmaille were offered — check the bulletin board near the store entrance for current classes being offered.

Beads, Beads, Beads is open seven days a week and is located at 801 S University Drive #B110, Plantation, Florida. Check out the web site for more information (cannot make purchases through the web site.)
