Unique Beads and A Small Store Touch

BeadRoom.com

Looking for unusual or vintage beads? Check out BeadRoom! While the selection of beads is not as extensive as I'd like to see, BeadRoom has a nice array of vintage, lampwork, and Czech glass. The store also carries both Japanese and Czech seed beads in many color choices.

Navigation on the site is best done through the links on the left side bar. Click on a link on the main page, and you are likely to end up with just the first color of that category of beads. Beads are arranged by color, which is nice if you are looking for a specific color combination. It's a little clunky if you are just browsing all beads or want to do a comparison.

I ordered beads on a Monday morning, and my shipment arrived via USPS Priority Mail on the following Saturday. BeadRoom.com did send a confirmation of my order, which is important to me to make sure it's been received!

I ordered "BeadRoom Exclusive" swirled lampwork beads in two colors, and a set of vintage beads. I was pleased with the quality of the beads, and they were packaged in individual plastic bags. I was a little concerned that they were packed in a non-padded envelope and no bubble wrap around the plastic bags, but they arrived unscathed.

Orders under $20 are subject to a $5 small order fee, so stock up if you are ordering! Checkout is secure with payment via credit card, or if you'd prefer, you can print an order form and send BeadRoom.com a check. Credit cards accepted are Visa, MasterCard, and American Express (no Discover!).

BeadRoom.com is a basic bead shopping store, no extra bells and whistles like project sheets, beading tips, bead history, etc.,. The site does list their show schedule, and there is a section called "Bead Stories" (requires Flash) that has four "Deep Thoughts"-type bead-related proverbs. Cute, but not anything I'll look at again.

Run by a mother and daughter, BeadRoom.com is a nice, "Mom & Pop" style bead store that offers limited selection, but some nice one-of-a-kind beads.

Bottom line, BeadRoom.com worth a try if you are interested in finding unique beads!
