In my search for the best online jewelry making tool suppliers, I happened across Contenti.com. After perusing for just a few short minutes, I started clicking and managed to fill up a virtual shopping cart very quickly! (Do virtual carts ever really "fill up"?)
Contenti offers an extensive selection of professional tools for jewelers — from hammers and steel blocks to the Jump Ringer, pliers of all types, saws, oil, soldering equipment and more...too much to really mention in this short review. The site index is laid out nicely and is very easy to navigate.
Tools are arranged within categories by quality and/or style and good photos of the tools being depicted are included.
One of the best features about the Contenti site are PDF files with instructions for many of the more complicated tools, like the Jump Ringer. As a beginning chainmailler, I want to start cutting my own rings and was not sure what I needed to do so. The Jump Ringer PDF file walked me though how to use the tool, what accessories I needed to use it properly, and is downloadable at any time, no cost. I find this to be VERY useful, because there's nothing worse than ordering something and then finding out later that you need something else to be able to use it!
Contenti assesses a Small Order Fee ($5) for orders under $30, but there is no minimum order. Returns are allowed with pre approval — defects must be identified and called in within 5 days. Non-defective returns may have a restock fee at Contenti's discretion.
Shipping is via UPS only (ground, air, next day are available), and is quite reasonable. The shipping cost is estimated when you place order, based on the weight of your items. Payment is accepted via credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex), Paypal or N30 customer account (established customers only).
My first order from Contenti was for a hammer, oil and steel block. The order was placed and confirmed (via email) on a Monday, and arrived at my home on Thursday. I was very impressed with the shipping time, the packaging, and the quality of my items.
Bottom line, I've already recommended Contenti's online store by sending my husband the link and a request for the Jump Ringer for Christmas. I'm confident in the selection, service and quality, and have added it to my list of great online jewelry tool suppliers!!
