Longer Days, Warmer Weather

Barring an early spring snow storm (which has been known to happen as late as May!), I'm looking forward to more sunshine and temperatures outside that don't require bundling up just to walk out to get the mail!

Spring always brings to mind new color schemes for jewelry making — pastels, bright greens and yellows; sometimes mixing them in with neutrals to create pieces that will last all summer long. I'm also looking forward to a couple of spring shows — I always print out a copy of Beading Help Web's Craft Show Checklist just to make sure I haven't forgotten anything since my last show before Christmas!

You Can Make This in 30 Minutes or Less!

Beading Help Web's 30-Minute Projects have proved to be very popular — you can make our Fun and Fancy Ribbon Bookmark and Multi-Strand Stretchy Ring in less than 30 minutes using supplies that are easily available almost anywhere! Coming soon: an easy Lampwork Wire Ring and a Swirled Heart Pendant that you can just pop on a chain for an instant necklace.

Ornament Thursday

Fun, fun project I've been involved in this year is a continuation of Ornament Thursday — a group of super talented and creative women who started making and blogging ornaments of all types for the 2007 holiday season. Ornament Thursday is now a year long event, with monthly themes and featured artists January through October, and back to holiday ornaments for November and December.

In March, I'm featured for the theme of "Sprout" which was more of a challenge than I thought it would be! Check out my blog page on Thursday, March 13 for a "teaser" of this month's project, and back again on Thursday, March 27 when the teaser is revealed along with step-by-step instructions. And be sure to check out the Ornament Thursday Blog and the other Ornament Thursday gals as well!
