SPIRAL SWIRL EARRINGS

Sterling swirls with crystal dangles for dress up or easily remove them for casual wear!

Level: Easy

Materials
20g sterling silver wire, half-hard or dead soft
Two crystal briolette drops with wrapped loop
Four 4mm sterling jump rings OR 26g sterling wire to create jump rings
Two earring wires or posts with bottom loops
Liver of Sulfur or hard boiled egg (optional for oxidizing)

Spiral Swirl EarringsUsing the tip of a needle-nosed pliers, or the smallest size on a 3-step tiered pliers, make a small loop. Continue winding around the loop, using a nylon-jawed pliers to hold the swirl flat and your fingers to form the loop.

After making two complete rounds, grasp the free end of the wire near the base of the swirl with a needle nosed pliers. Carefully continue the wrap around the swirl, creating a slight outdent with the pliers. This outdent will be where you hang the removable crystal dangle from.

Finish the swirl at the opposite end from the outdent, creating a loop that is in the opposite direction from the swirl. Cut the wire from the spool close to the swirl.

Repeat for second earring component.

Optional: If you prefer oxidized silver over shiny, oxidize the swirls using Liver of Sulfur or a crushed hard boiled egg.

Optional: Create tiny sterling jump rings by wrapping 26g wire around the smallest size on the 3-step tiered pliers. Wrap multiple times, and cut apart.

Using one jump ring, hang the crystal briolette from the bottom outdent of the spiral. Use another jump ring to attach the spiral to the earring wire or post loop. Repeat for second earring.

To remove dangles, open jump ring carefully and store jump ring and briolette.
