Flaua Paua Necklace
A great look for teens, this simple necklace can have a variety of looks just by changing the beads in between the top-drilled Paua shell beads. I've used hematite in my necklace, but silver rounds, tiny pearls, or crystals also look terrific!

Materials
Paua top-drilled tear shaped beads (5)
3mm hematite round beads (5)
Beadalon Designer Series Silver Colored Beading Wire
Crimp beads (2)
Bead tips (2)
Magnetic clasp
Cut a length of Beadalon wire 28" long. Alternately string the Paua and hematite beads, centering the beads on the strand of wire. When you have strung the last bead, run one end of the wire back through the first Paua shell bead and pull tight, creating a flower shape out of the shells. The beading wire will now come out of opposite sides of the shell bead, making an attached flower pendant.

String one bead tip and then a crimp bead on each side of the necklace wire. Measure out the desired length of your necklace (including the pendant) and mark where the wire should be cut using a Sharpie marker. I made my necklace 20" long, so I put the bottom of my pendant at the beginning of my ruler, and stretched out the two wire ends to 10" and marked it there.
Crimp the crimp bead on the spot where you marked the wire. Be sure it is crimped tightly - when you crimp only one strand of wire, sometimes they slip. Clip excess wire close to the crimp. Slide the bead tip up, and attach one end of the clasp to the bead tip. Close the cover on the bead tip over the crimp bead for a great finished look.
Repeat for other side of the wire.
